China meets Oman at the Al Bustan Palace

If you like Chinese food, there really are only a handful of restaurants in Muscat that I'd recommend. And by handful I really only mean two - and one of those is the China Mood at the Al Bustan Palace - which has consistently been my favourite place for some Hoisin duck pancakes (they're awesome, and I also enjoy that it all comes on a plate in the shape of a duck - but I digress).

As is common for the big boys in the hotel world with properties all over the world, the Ritz Carlton in Guangzhou have sent 2 of their chefs over for a week to showcase their skills for those of you who enjoy good Chinese cuisine. Starting tonight and running until Friday (17th... St Patricks day) is a special five course set-menu for a surprisingly non-eye watering price of RO 22 a head (net) which includes the 5 course dinner, coffee and tea by the Chinese tea sommelier (I didn't know that existed, but it appears the person is pretty confident in their tea pouring skills from the photo).

Well, now you know. Fancy Chinese food, by Chinese people, at the China Mood restaurant in the Al Bustan, all week from 7pm till 11pm. If you want to know more or make a reservation, you can call them on 24 764 000 or email them at boxoffice.albustan@ritzcarlton.com
