Just a quick one to note that schools and ministries in Muscat are closing at 12:45pm today, with some schools closing at 13:30. The reason given is due to a current visit from the President of Iran - presumably there will be some road closures this afternoon.

Road closures started at 11.45 with zero warning. Just wasted an hour trying to get to Ghala from Ghubra, got half way past back of Grand Mosque then turned around. The chaos these highway closures cause is untold. I would love to see the accident count which results...
