The Avenues Mall - Store listing

Often referred to as the Lulu Mall, Muscat's newest shopping mall is set to open this April (I think) and it's called The Avenues Mall. The mall has over 700,000 square feet of shop space spread over 3 floors and is bolted on to the existing lulu hypermarket in Ghubra. To put it another way, it's about 25% bigger than Muscat City Centre in terms of shop floor area available.

So it's a big mall then. Probably the biggest one in Oman so far! There is a pretty big multi-level department store planned on the right side of the mall (the opposite side to the Lulu's store) that has a lot of shops listed below in it, I've marked these with a [D] to show that they're all planned for this department store. In addition to the stores listed below, there is also a multi-screen cinema planned for the 2nd floor (the current roof I think) of the existing Lulu's store. I still don't know the franchise for this cinema.

The Avenues's mall is due to open soon - I still don't know exactly when, but perhaps April?

I've listed below as many signed up stores as I can, and here's the store listing that I have so far:

  1. Knowing that Boots is coming has made my day. I hope they manage to attract some more new stores to the malls here, I don't understand why they are all the same!

  4. So disappointed. The list is large yes, but most of it is already a part of some other mall. Why oh why can't we have something new :-| .

  5. Cheesecake factory would have been nice :(

  6. Most recent estimate of opening I heard (from people representing shops due to open there) was the end of 2015.

  7. You can add Billabong to the list too :)

  8. All the usual suspects, other than Boots, really boring.

  9. I hope they learn from the debacle that is Grand Mall car park and actually make the parking bays wide enough to be able to enter/exit your car using the doors & not the sunroof.

  10. If it's anything like the Avenues Mall in Kuwait the car park will be complete cluster-f***, with spaces too small (like the amateurishly designed MGM), and a circular route through, which results in huge delays while the more selfish drivers hold everyone behind up as they wait ages for people to come out of spaces, and the people coming out unable to, as they are reversing into stationary traffic.

On second thought it could be quite fun, as we watch today's stupidity and selfishness taken to entirely new levels.

  11. Other than Boots ..rest disappointing!Same same! Why not a proper Woolies grocery store?? Harvey Nicks, Kenneth Cole, Priceline, Chemist Warehouse..just a few good departmentdepartment stores to provide some competition.

  12. Another disappointment. I thought this mall will bring new fashion brands like Pull & Bear, American Eagle, Lacoste, Cielo, Bershka, Esprit, G2000, Hollister, and a lot more.
