For the 5th time in a row, the ever-growing Tour of Oman is set to take place this week. One of the larger jewels in the Muscat Festival crown, the tour has become a genuinely internationally recognized event with many of the top teams attending the tour. It's also a pretty handy "pre-season" competition but has grown to be something more now. All good for Oman.
There will be plenty of media coverage of this event, with OmanTV and beIN sports providing coverage in the Middle East. For in depth coverage details around the world, click here to see which channels are broadcasting it, and here to see when they will be.
Now, over the years the route has more or less been the same, but there are some changes here and there. I've blogged about the tour every year except in 2012 (I was probably being lazy that year). To see the routes from 2010, 2011, 2013 - click on the year you want.
Here is the 6 stage maps for this 2014 edition of the tour:

Quite a lot of riding around town, I guess traffic will be impacted at various times on those days that the riders are in the City. For more information you can check out the official website of the event here.
